Preparing for Union Organizing to be Covered in Free Web Meeting May 18

AGC of America’s Open Shop Committee will hold its next web meeting on May 18 beginning at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.  The event will feature a “Quick Learn” presentation by attorney Rick Samson of Ogletree Deakins on Preparing for the NLRB’s New “Quickie Election” Rule, as well as a labor law update by AGC staff.

As discussed in previous AGC newsletter articles and at AGC’s Annual Convention last month, the “quickie” or “ambush” election rule refers to new procedures that went into effect on April 14 and that make union organizing easier.  During the May 18 web meeting, Rick will deliver a shortened version of his presentation at the convention on behalf of those who couldn’t attend the session.  The focus will be on practical and lawful strategies that companies can implement now to best position themselves for union organizing in case they’re targeted.

The web meeting is open to all AGC members and chapter staff regardless of committee membership. There is no fee to participate, but you must be an AGC member and must register in advance.  Log-in and call-in information will be sent to all registrants just 1-2 business days prior to the web meeting.
