OFCCP to Host Webinar Series on Disabilities & Veterans Rules

On Dec. 17, 2013, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) will host its first of five webinars on the new regulations implementing Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act (Section 503) and the Vietnam Era Veterans’ Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA).  The newly announced webinar series, “Moving Towards Compliance,” is aimed at educating contractors on the new regulations implementing Section 503 and the Vietnam Era Veterans’ VEVRAA. During this first session, OFCCP plans to outline the new self-identification requirements, including when contractors are required to invite applicants and employees to self-identify, the purpose for collecting that information and its use. In addition, OFCCP will review the new data collection requirements for job openings, jobs filled, and applicants and hires who are protected veterans and/or individuals with disabilities.  A recording of the webinar will be posted when it becomes available.  Additional webinars in the series include: January 16 – Creating a Section 503 affirmative action program, self-assessment, and outreach and recruitment-Registration is now open; February 6 – Creating a VEVRAA affirmative action program, self-assessment, and outreach and recruitment; February 20 – EO Clause, job listings and tag line; and March 6 – Goals and benchmarks. Registration information for these webinars have not yet been released. All webinars in the series are scheduled from 2:00-3:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.  OFCCP will post the webinar recordings on its VEVRAA and Section 503 web pages for those are not able to listen live.
