AGC Opens the Doors to Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Resources at its June Conference

Attendees at the AGC 2013 Contractors Environmental Conference (CEC) on June 13-14, 2013, will gain access to up-to-date information and resources on compliance and trends that affect the business of construction across the nation.  From a keynote address by Administrator Victor Mendez of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and award-winning speakers to this year’s “Compliance Assistance Hour: A Meet and Greet with the Federal Agencies”, AGC opens the doors to resources that help contractors maintain compliance and meet the sustainability goals of their projects. Watch a video interview of Administrator Mendez and learn more about the conference here. AGC is proud to welcome FHWA Administrator Victor Mendez to deliver the keynote address at this year’s conference.  Among other relevant topics, Administrator Mendez will discuss the three main focus areas for FHWA’s Every Day Counts initiative: shortening project delivery, accelerating technology and innovation deployment, and FHWA’s Going Greener initiative. Another exciting feature unique to the 2013 CEC is the “Compliance Assistance Hour: A Meet and Greet with the Federal Agencies”, where attendees will have the opportunity to explore and ask questions about the compliance assistance and sustainability tools provided by the federal agencies.  Representatives from program offices at the Department of Energy, General Services Administration and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will be on hand at this meet and greet.  In addition, AGC has extended invitations to FHWA and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  These federal agencies write the very rules that govern projects nationwide.  Working together, the 'Meet and Greet' and educational sessions will provide attendees with the environmental knowledge and tools they can apply directly to their job sites. The AGC 2013 Contractors Environmental Conference will take place on June 13-14, 2013, in Arlington, Virginia, right across the river from our nation’s capital.  The conference schedule, topics, additional information and registration are online at www.agc.org/enviroconf2013Members are encouraged to take advantage of the early bird discount that extends through April 30.
