Invitation to Virtual Town Hall for Contractor Input on LEED v4

AGC Environmental Forum members are invited to actively share their input and ask questions about the newest version of the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System.  Join AGC and the USGBC for a complimentary, virtual town hall on the afternoon of Sept. 11, 2012, to facilitate this discussion. Free Town Hall Discussion on LEED v4 September 11, 2012 – 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. E-mail yatesc@agc.org to reserve your spot today As previously reported, the USGBC has delayed until 2013 the member voting on the newest version of its rating system—LEED v4—and initiated plans for a beta test.  AGC supported USGBC’s decision as it would provide the Council valuable time to solicit more feedback on the proposed changes—for contractors in particular, those changes related to recycling and construction materials.  In response, the USGBC approached AGC to reach out to the construction community for their input. AGC and the USGBC will hold the virtual town hall on Sept. 11, 2012, from 3:30p.m. until 5:00 p.m. EST.  The town hall will start with a brief overview of the changes anticipated for LEED v4 provided by Brendan Owens, vice-president, LEED technical development at the USGBC.  AGC members will then have approximately an hour to ask questions and provide their insight to USGBC based on their experience using the LEED rating system.  To reserve your spot at this town hall, please send your information (name, company) in an e-mail to Crystal Yates at yatesc@agc.org.  AGC will follow-up with a confirmation, agenda, and log-in instructions.  Participants can prepare for the town hall by reviewing the proposed changes on the USGBC website.  Participants also can submit questions in advance, simply send your questions to yatesc@agc.org; and we will make sure they are addressed during the town hall.
