Call for Presentations: Green Highways and Infrastructure Program at 2011 CONEXPO-CON/AGG

AGC is working with EPA, the Federal Highway Administration, Construction Materials Recycling Association and other organizations on a one-day workshop that explores green construction approaches.  Are you a leader in recycling construction & demolition debris or using recycled materials in your highway and infrastructure projects?  Do you have experience implementing innovative approaches to managing stormwater runoff and preventing diesel emissions from construction equipment? The planners of the Green Highways and Infrastructure Program at the 2011 CONEXPO-CON/AGG are looking for technical presentations on these and other sustainability topics for the day-long workshop.  Potential topics include:
  • Use of recycled materials (such as recycled asphalt pavement, recycled concrete aggregate, foundry sand, scrap tires, compost, or slag cement) in roadway construction
  • Low-Impact Development and other innovative stormwater management techniques
  • Context-sensitive solutions to highway design and construction
  • Experience on Green Highway Projects
There is a growing movement across the country towards making highway and infrastructure construction and renovation more environmentally sustainable.  The time is ripe to share your innovative approaches.  Let us showcase your experience in front of hundreds of your peers! For more information and to submit presentation topics, contact Melinda Tomaino at tomainom@agc.org.
