President Biden Signs Historic, Bipartisan Infrastructure Legislation Set to Deliver Record Levels of Investment to Every Corner of the Country

On Monday, November 15, President Joe Biden, alongside a bipartisan group of members of Congress, signed the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act into law. This historic investment in all facets of our nation’s infrastructure includes record levels of funding over the next 5 years, such as:

  • $351B total to rebuild and repair our roads and bridges;
  • $107B total to build and repair our public transit systems;
  • $66B to repair and expand our freight and passenger rail systems;
  • $65B to build and increase access to broadband internet;
  • $55B for clean water infrastructure;
  • $73B for modernizing the electric grid and clean energy transmission;
  • $25B for airport improvements;
  • $17B for port infrastructure, and much more.

This bill the most significant investment to the nation’s infrastructure since the enactment of the Interstate Highway System in the mid-1950’s. It will bring significant, needed improvements to the built environment in communities across the country, all the while creating and sustaining good-paying careers in construction and its related industries. The investments in this bill will connect and rebuild communities, make them more resilient to extreme weather events, and yield short and long-term economic benefits for all American families.
