The construction industry has been employing lean principles primarily in field production through Last Planner and Pull Scheduling. Other lean tools are being used to improve contract relationships and improving jobsite coordination. Lean principles can extend further to improve safety and quality of the work performed. This webinar will discuss lean philosophy and the elimination of waste to improve the construction process, especially in the realm of accident elimination. Attendees will learn how to utilize lean management tools to enhance their company’s safety culture and improve safety performance.

Mark Rounds
Vice President of Corporate Development
Vogel Brothers Building Co.

Mark is the Vice President of Corporate Development for Vogel Brothers Building Co. In his role, he is responsible for coaching personnel and optimizing systems to improve the overall performance of the organization. He has over 35 years of experience in the construction industry holding positions as laborer, superintendent, project engineer, estimator, senior project manager, and vice president of operations. He teaches professional development classes at Milwaukee School of Engineering and is an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin where he teaches a class in leadership principles. Mark is also a past president of the AGC of Wisconsin and is a registered Profession Engineer.

 

Over his career, he has worked for companies both large and small. His project experience includes Healthcare, Education, Commercial and Retail, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Bridges and Heavy Construction. He has worked in several markets including Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Virginia, and the Carolinas.

 

Continuing Education: 

1.0 CM-Lean CE Credit | AGC of America recognizes this WebEd as qualifying for continuing education hours towards the renewal of AGC’s Certificate of Management-Lean Construction (CM-Lean). Each hour of educational content is equal to 1.0 hour of CE credit. Attendees may earn up to 1.0 hour of CE credit by attending this WebEd

AGC of America WebEd Cancellation & Refund Policy: 

If you will not be able to attend an AGC of America WebEd program for which you have already registered, you may qualify for a refund of your registration fee or be able to substitute another employee within your organization. If you cancel your registration at least ten (10) days prior to the webinar, AGC of America will provide a full refund. No refund will be provided if you do not meet this deadline, however you may transfer your registration to another employee within your organization. AGC of America will provide all registrants with a recording of the webinar and the PowerPoint slides following the program.
