This lively, information-packed WebEd, brought to you by the AGC of America (AGCA) Business Development Forum presents industry experts, Ken Simonson, Chief Economist, Associated General Contractors of America and Cliff Brewis, Vice President of Operations for Dodge Data Analytics as they provide construction industry leaders and Business Development professionals national and regional construction market predictions in light of a new presidential administration.

Ken Simonson will provide an overview of the national outlook for construction spending, labor availability, and materials costs. He will review the new possibilities and uncertainties resulting from announcements and initiatives of the Trump administration and Congress.

Cliff Brewis will review Dodge Data & Analytics’ expectations for construction in different geographic regions of the country, identify how regions vary, and the reasons for the variation while pointing out the strengths and weaknesses within the different markets.

The objective is to help you anticipate the direction of the industry to better position your business.

Kenneth Simonson
Chief Economist
The Associated General Contractors of America

Ken Simonson has been the chief economist of the Associated General Contractors of America, the leading trade association for the construction industry, since 2001. His weekly summary of economic news relevant to construction, The Data DIGest, goes to 47,000 subscribers. He is a Fellow and past president of the National Association for Business Economics, the professional organization for individuals who use economics in their work. Currently, he serves as an appointed member of the Census Scientific Advisory Committee and the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Data Users Advisory Committee. Ken has 40 years of experience analyzing, advocating and communicating about economic and tax issues. He received a BA in economics from the University of Chicago and an MA in economics from Northwestern University.

Cliff Brewis
Vice President Operations
Dodge Data & Analytics

Cliff Brewis is in the management team responsible for the newsgathering and production operations at Dodge Data and Analytics (formerly McGraw-Hill Construction/Dodge).  In addition to operational responsibilities, Cliff is involved in customer support functions, marketing, association relationships, and is a frequent speaker on the construction forecast.   Cliff has been with Dodge for over 30 years in sales, planning and operations.   He has worked in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Washington D.C. and San Francisco.    

Cliff was awarded an honorarium from the American Institute of Architects, California Council for his “contribution to the construction industry” and his work as a founding member of a committee on Integrated Project Delivery.

Rick is Senior Manager of Business Development for Rosendin Electric.  His responsibilities include establishing and maintaining client relationships, research and analysis of the market place and tracking and maintaining the status of developing projects.  A Long Beach State graduate, Rick is involved in the company’s strategic planning process and works closely with Rosendin’s preconstruction group in developing estimates and proposals. A 35 year construction industry veteran, Rick has held a variety of construction management positions and has served on Boards with NECA, MCA and SMPS. Rick is currently serving on the AGC Silicon Valley Chapter Board of Directors. Rosendin Electric has been headquartered in San Jose, California since its founding in 1919, is 100 % employee owned and consistently ranks nationally in the top five in annual revenues among electrical contractors.

AGC of America WebEd Cancellation & Refund Policy: 

If you will not be able to attend an AGC of America WebEd program for which you have already registered, you may qualify for a refund of your registration fee or be able to substitute another employee within your organization. If you cancel your registration at least ten (10) days prior to the webinar, AGC of America will provide a full refund. No refund will be provided if you do not meet this deadline, however you may transfer your registration to another employee within your organization. AGC of America will provide all registrants with a recording of the webinar and the PowerPoint slides following the program.
