Working in both the firm’s Atlanta and Metro Washington, D.C. offices, Scott Walters represents construction-industry clients in federal government construction contracting issues, claims and disputes, regulatory compliance, litigation and alternative dispute resolution, contract drafting and negotiations, and general business and corporate matters. He litigates and advises in construction disputes in state and federal courts, at boards of contract appeals, and in private arbitration.

With a client base primarily comprising general contractors and trade subcontractors, Scott advocates for companies and individuals in matters involving differing site conditions, project changes (actual and constructive), project delays and disruptions, defective plans and specifications, construction defects, non-payment, regulatory compliance, and business matters. Always keeping an eye on cost containment, he strives to help identify potentially contentious situations as early as possible in the construction process and guides client in promptly resolving these issues so they can focus on building and completing their projects.

Scott previously served as assistant general counsel to an Atlanta-area industrial and environmental remediation contractor and worked in a private practice centered on construction, real estate development, and land use issues. Prior to law school, Scott was a project engineer, project manager, and owner’s representative on commercial construction and environmental remediation projects. His experience in the industry is augmented by a civil engineering degree from The Georgia Institute of Technology.
