Supervisory Training Program
The Supervisory Training Program (STP), created by AGC of America, is a construction-specific training curriculum developed, updated, and field-tested by and for contractors. The program consists of 12 comprehensive courses (including two overview courses) that focus on the knowledge and skills that every supervisor must have to be an effective manager of people, time, equipment and materials. Supervisory skill - or the lack of it - directly affects every company's bottom line. Each day, decisions made by every foreman and superintendent are crucial to the success or failure of every construction project. You make your money in the field, and STP can help you improve your organization's bottom line. Course AttendeesSTP Participants are likely to have various titles depending on the kind of work they perform, the geographical location of their projects, and the size of their company. Individuals attending STP courses include anyone on a construction jobsite in a supervisory role - from the new supervisor and foreman to the experienced superintendent. DurationEach of the 12 STP units is a 25-hour course, accounting for 300 hours of instruction. Each unit is divided into ten sessions, each with 2.5 hours of instruction. The structure of the program allows for flexibility so that courses can be taught in several different formats to meet the needs of today's working professional. Options include:
