CLC Member Highlight: Christopher Jaccino, General Building Contractors Association

Christopher Jaccino, Assistant Project Manager for LF Driscoll in Philadelphia, PA, has been a member of GBCA’s Construction Leadership Council (CLC) since 2019, and in February 2021, he joined its Steering Committee.

Christopher’s interest in construction began in high school when he wanted to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering but wasn’t sure exactly what industry he would enter. While at an internship with a General Contractor during his sophomore year of university, his career goal became clear: he wanted to work in the construction industry.

Since entering the construction industry as a project engineer and now as an Assistant Project Manager, Christopher has focused on learning as much as he can with an optimistic attitude. While he is his own harshest critic when frustrations or mistakes come up, Christopher reminds himself that these moments are still part of the work, and that in the industry, how he handles the tough moments impacts his reputation.

Christopher has actively worked to build lasting relationships. He started attending CLC events in 2019 and quickly became involved, organizing a hard hat tour of Philadelphia’s tallest concrete building project. In addition to connecting with people on the project team, he was able to meet with other young professionals in the industry during the event itself. Through the CLC, Christopher has built up his network, but not only with other like-minded peers. He has been fortunate to meet mentors and connect with industry leaders. He has also already become a mentor to other young professionals and students through the CLC’s activities.

“The most important lesson that I have learned in my career is how important it is to build relationship with the entire project team. Nobody’s role is too big or small to learn from.”
