Transportation Secretary Buttigieg Testifies
Lays Out Bold Vision for Infrastructure Investment

On March 25, U.S. Department of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made his first visit to Capitol Hill in his new capacity to testify before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. In his opening statement, Buttigieg highlighted that now is “the best chance in any of our lifetimes to make a generational investment in infrastructure.” Of note Buttigieg also stated in the hearing that he has “heard loud and clear from members of Congress, Republican and Democratic, that an infrastructure proposal needs to have at least a partial funding source."
