Changes Coming to Federal Acquisition

Beta.SAM.gov replaces FBO.gov

On Nov. 7, the General Services Administration announced that Beta.SAM.gov is now the official source for federal contracting opportunities. The URL FBO.gov will be retired and transitioned into beta.SAM.gov under “contract opportunities.”  GSA expects transition will be completed the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 12

Beta.SAM.gov is the next step in GSA’s effort to streamline and consolidate 10 Federal award systems into a single online site: (CFDA, FBO, FPDS-NG, SAM, WDOL, CPARS, FAPIIS, PPIRS, eSRS, FSRS).  The original sites will coexist with beta.SAM.gov until they are removed. Once the original SAM.gov site has retired, the beta site will be renamed “SAM.gov.”  According to the website’s FAQs, you will not need to re-register your entity, but you will need to create a new beta.SAM.gov user account. The entity data will migrate to the new site. Then, you will be able to claim your legacy SAM.gov roles using your new beta.SAM.gov account.

GSA is asking for contractors to provide feedback on the beta version, click “Provide Feedback” box for your firm to submit comments.
