AGC Weighs in on Army Corps' Actions, Outlook to Revolutionize Its Civil Works Program

At the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) invitation, AGC attended a “Revolutionize USACE Civil Works (CW) Partner Session” on May 15 at USACE Headquarters.  AGC took the opportunity to provide feedback on the Corps’ initiative to improve our nation’s infrastructure by synchronizing actions, developing new tools, and streamlining activities.  USACE will host webinars on June 20 and 28 to outline Revolutionize USACE CW and to provide interested stakeholders with an opportunity to provide input on how the Corps’ can improve upon its goals and objects, as well as its outreach and communication efforts.

In advance of the May 15 Partner Session, AGC submitted a list of priority issues specific to project delivery, financing/budget and permitting issues, along with our recommendations on ways to improve current processes and procedures in these areas – click here.  The Corps prepared a detailed thematic summary of the session, click here, that includes feedback from all of the meeting participants.

AGC has published two articles highlighting a series of recent actions the Corps has taken already, which we expect to have a positive impact on future civil works projects or work in/around “Waters of the United States”: click here and here.  At the Partner Session, the Corps circulated an Infrastructure Accomplishments paper

Stakeholder Webinars

The upcoming Revolutionize USACE Civil Works webinars will be held on June 20 and 28.  The webinars will provide an overview of the Revolutionize USACE CW efforts and the actions taken to date.  An opportunity for discussion will follow the presentation. The USACE Infrastructure Team is interested in obtaining feedback on ongoing actions, ideas about how USACE can improve project delivery and streamline permitting within the Corps' current authorities, and any impacts USACE's actions have had on project-related efforts to date.  Details and log-in / call-in information is posted at the following website https://www.usace.army.mil/Missions/Civil-Works/Infrastructure/revolutionize/ -- or see directly below.
