Get Involved in AGC Environmental Programs Planned for 2017

AGC is planning several events in the coming year that are of interest to environmental professionals in the industry.  Please save the dates for these special events in 2017 and stay tuned for more information and exciting updates.

Peer-to-Peer Learning Opportunities

Are you an environmental professional working in-house at a construction firm?  Twice a year, AGC organizes a day of roundtable discussions specifically for you and your peers.  AGC’s In-House Environmental Managers Meetings are typically held in the spring and the fall.  At these special meetings, the participants set the agenda for the roundtable discussions.  AGC polls the participants to identify the topics and discussion leaders.  Although highly educational, there are no formal presentations.  This meeting is meant to foster peer-to-peer learning and discussion of the unique opportunities, situations and challenges for environmental professionals working “in-house” at a construction firm.

2017 Meeting Dates:

  • The spring meeting, set for March 9, will be co-located with AGC’s Annual Convention at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Separate registration applies and will open in January.  (Registration to AGC’s Annual Convention is not required.)
  • The fall meeting, set for September 12, will be co-located with AGC’s Contractors Environmental Conference (CEC) in the Washington, DC area.  Separate registration applies and will open this spring.  (Registration to AGC’s CEC, set for September 13-14 and detailed below, is not required.)

Educational and Networking Conference

AGC’s Contractors Environmental Conference is held annually in the fall in the Washington, DC area in order to build industry relationships with Federal regulators and provide networking and educational opportunities for professionals in construction and related industries.  AGC’s CEC is a great place for emerging professionals and others to learn how environmental requirements affect the process of construction and for seasoned environmental managers to hear about the latest requirements and management practices.  Save the date for September 13-14, 2017.  A call for presentations, registration, and additional details are coming soon.

  • Stay current with environmental rules and trends
  • Develop a relationship with key leaders at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
  • Learn how to identify and manage environmental risk
  • Discover technologies, tools and training techniques
  • Identify management options to save resources and reduce operating expenses
