Learn about the WELL Building Standard on this New AGC WebEd

Join AGC of America and the sustainability director for Clark Construction, Fulya Kocak Gin, on this new WebEd to introduce general contractors to the WELL Building Standard® on July 19th from 2p.m. to 3p.m. ET.  In this AGC WebEd, the instructor will explain WELL concepts, preconditions and optimizations; its applicability to various building types; cost of certification; and how this standard applies to contractors.  The instructor will also discuss tips for preparing for the WELL AP Credentialing exam.

Launched in 2014, the WELL Building Standard® applies to commercial, institutional, and residential developments including new construction, core and shell, and tenant improvements.  This emerging standard focuses on how our built environment impacts human health and well-being through seven main concepts: air, water, light, comfort, fitness, nourishment, and mind.

About the Speaker

Fulya Kocak Gin
Director of Sustainability
Clark Construction Group, LLC

With more than 16 years of experience in the construction industry, Fulya has played a significant role in more than 90 public- and private- sector projects nationwide.  In 2014, Fulya was named a LEED® Fellow™ by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).  Fulya is the recipient of the 2014 Mayor’s Sustainability Award for the District of Columbia (DC) and served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the USGBC National Capital Region Chapter. As a voting member of the DCRA Green Technical Advisory Group, Fulya has been influential in the development of the first green building codes for Washington, DC.  Fulya is also a member of the USGBC Materials & Resources Technical Advisory Group and on the committee for ANSI/ASHRAE/USGBC/IES Standard 189.1, Standard for the Design of High-Performance Green Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential.  Fulya also served a recent three-year term on the steering committee for AGC’s Environmental Forum.  Fulya also recently authored the LEED AP® BD+C Exam Preparation Guide and associated Study Cards, available here from Amazon.
