CM-Lean Exam Nears Release

The development of AGC of America’s second credential, the Certificate of Management—Lean Construction (CM-Lean), is nearing release and the exam is currently going through the beta phase. Over fifty qualified professionals will take part in the beta testing between September 14 and October 2, 2015. These individuals were eligible to sit for the exam by attending all seven units that construct the Lean Construction Education Program. The AGC Certificate of Management-Lean Construction (CM-Lean) is an assessment-based certificate credential that denotes knowledge and understanding of concepts related to lean adoption, practice and process transformation outlined in AGC’s Lean Construction Education Program.

Seven AGC chapters are participating in the beta phase by offering the assessment. AGC of America would like to offer a special recognition and appreciation to AGC Arkansas, AGC of DC, AGC Georgia, AGC of Massachusetts, AGC of Mississippi, Houston Chapter AGC, and AGC of Wisconsin for their participation.

The CM-Lean exam is similar in framework to the CM-BIM exam, which was introduced in 2011. The exam affords exam takers four hours to answer 150 multiple-choice questions. The exam is computer-based and has to be proctored by Chapter Testing Centers.  The exam will be eligible to all candidates who meet the requirements in late October.

We look forward to providing additional information on the official launch in the coming weeks. For more information or questions, please contact Meri Woods via email at woodsm@agc.org.
