AGC’s director of safety and health Kevin Cannon was invited by Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis to serve a two year term on the Advisory Committee of Construction Safety and Health.
In this capacity, Kevin will advise the Secretary and Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health in the development of standards pertaining to occupational safety and health in the construction industry. Specifically, the Assistant Secretary must consult with the committee and seek recommendations any time the Department of Labor proposes occupational safety and health standards affecting construction activities.
The committee is made up of 15 members who represent the employers, employees, state safety and health agencies, and members of the public in the construction industry. Kevin will represent employers in the construction industry.
