Dallas AGC BIMForum Call for Implementation Practices

The AGC BIMForum's Dallas Meeting on May 28-29, 2009 is themed BIM NOW MORE THAN EVER...the embedded value of BIM and the Bottom line, from the 30-day and 30-year perspectives. In order to maximize the value of this forum, we are putting out a call for implementation practices. The BIMForum leadership will review the submittals and contact the submitters to potentially provide a presentation on their technique, strategies, and practice. Given the economy, the types of practices that we are looking for are those that take advantage of the current state of technology and bring value and efficiency to the process.  We especially encourage proposals that discuss the value of BIM from the short-term, mid-term and long-term view, including:
  • Lowest First Costs,
  • Lowest Cost to Complete the Project, and
  • Life Cycle Project Costs.
We are seeking contributions that discuss and document how BIM can provide significant value for a project in 30 days as well as in 30 years. Other areas of interest include, but are not limited to, Pre-Project Planning, Budget, Energy, LEED, and Schedule.  Additional areas of interest are file management and how to break up a model for ease of management, and the use of BIM in O&M.  If you have any practices you care to share, please provide a brief (one page or less) write up along with contact information and forward to Dmitri Alferieff at alferieffd@agc.org by March 2, 2009.
