AGC BIMForum Meeting a Huge Success

More than two hundred attendees participated in the AGC BIMForum meeting held October 2-3, 2008 in Falls Church, VA.   For two full days, attendees heard presentations and held discussions focused on finding practical solutions to some of the challenges posed by Building Information Modeling (BIM) implementation. The theme of the Falls Church meeting was “BIM with Others.”  Through presentations and targeted working groups, the conference addressed how interface points are established between project teams to help building information models evolve.  The conference presented the current state of the art with practical and in-depth recommendations from some of the nation's leading building teams that answered many pressing questions including how builders use an architect’s model, how modeling practice changes to facilitate sequencing and schedule simulation, and how many of the challenges of model exchanges can be addressed. The AGC BIMForum will next meet in La Quinta, CA on January 8-9, 2009 to focus on BIM-enabled Integrated Project Delivery.
