AGC Receives Advance Draft Crane and Derricks Proposal

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) sent advance draft copies of the Notice for Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Cranes and Derricks on September 17, 2008. During C-DAC (Negotiated Rulemaking Crane and Derricks Advisory Committee) ground rules were established for the Negotiated Rulemaking.  One of those rules stated that C-DAC members would be able to review the proposal prior to the publication of the NPRM. On September 17, 2008, OSHA delivered the advance copy to C-DAC members and posted the draft NPRM on their website on September 19, 2008. The NPRM is scheduled to be published in the Federal Register on October 9, 2008.  The public will have 60-days to respond with public comments.
