The Highest Honor: Apply to the Aon Build America Awards

As the 2008 Aon Build America Award winner in the category of Federal & Heavy New, Boh Brothers Construction Co., L.L.C. was recognized in Las Vegas at AGC's 89th Annual Convention in March for its work on the 17th Street Canal Interim Closure Structure in Metairie and New Orleans, La. The project was designed to prevent storm surge from Lake Pontchartrain from entering the canal while maintaining the pumping of storm water from the city. During Hurricane Katrina, the lake's storm surge caused an influx of water into the drainage canal, which lead to the collapse of floodwall sections and major flooding in the city of New Orleans.  Boh offered an alternative design that allowed for visual inspection and guaranteed the integrity of trough embedment within concrete. Consider submitting one of your most innovative projects for AGC's 2009 Aon Build America Awards.  These awards honor AGC members who build the nation's most impressive construction projects ranging across the building, highway and transportation, municipal and utilities, and federal and heavy divisions.  AGC's Aon Build America Awards recognize general and specialty contractors working as prime contractors for projects completed in a calendar year.  Awards will be presented at AGC's 90th Annual Convention in San Diego on March 4-7, 2009.    Apply today and make sure your project is in the running for the Grand Award!
