AGC is dedicated to promoting careers in construction, working in partnership with government, industry, and other associations to advance and support a wide range of effective and innovative programs.
The Federal Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship (ACA ) has four long-term areas of focus: policy; expansion; strategic partnerships; and under-represented populations. The ACA also provides input on the planned revisions to the federal regulations governing Equal Employment and Opportunity in Apprenticeship.
AGC Senior Director Liz Elvin is serving a two-year term on the ACA as one of ten employer representatives to the 30-member committee.
Since 1996, AGC has partnered with the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) to help address the critical workforce shortage facing the construction industry. NCCER is a not-for-profit education foundation created to develop industry-driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials.
The LIUNA Training and Education Fund is the training arm for the Laborers' International Union of North America (LIUNA), offering adult education for the construction workforce through standardized education and training programs, products, and services to enhance the training capabilities of the 70 affiliated training funds and facilities throughout the United States and Canada that train thousands of laborers each year.
