Training and Relying on Field Supervisors as an Extension of HR

Most construction companies have an HR department located in a corporate office, reducing the amount of time available for interaction with craft workers. During this roundtable session, participants will share best practices for training supervisors who work in the field to act as an extension of the HR department.

By attending this session, participants will learn to:

• Train field supervisors on HR matters related to interviewing, new hire orientation, discipline and documentation, and terminations;
• Share techniques with field supervisors that will help to keep the company legally compliant; and
• Use the “best practices” of other companies to engage field supervisors as an extension of HR.
