The AGC Federal and Heavy Construction Division helps its contractor members better perform the vast majority of all federal construction projects across the nation. Division members perform a diverse range of projects including building construction for agencies such as the General Services Administration, military construction projects for our Armed Services and water resources projects that benefit our nation's navigation and flood control.

The division provides a wide variety of services to AGC Members:

Advocacy

The Federal and Heavy Construction Division supports a vigorous legislative and regulatory agenda. The division regularly engages with influential members of Congress and top officials with the federal agencies.

Industry Relations

The Federal and Heavy Construction Division continues to cultivate excellent relationships with numerous owners and other industry organizations on behalf of AGC members. Thanks to the ongoing dialogue between AGC and federal owners, AGC is able to provide the agencies with valuable current industry information.

Publications and information resource centers developed by the Federal and Heavy Construction Division provide a comprehensive overview of the federal contracting process and offer helpful information on topics such as:  Locating Federal Work, Types of Federal Contracts, Small Business Concerns, Payment Procedures, Claims and Dispute Resolution, and much more.
