Integrating Experiential Learning into Traditional Instructor-Led Training

Ken Bradford, Author, Founder, and Trainer with The Leaders Course®

Experiential or experience-based learning is a common buzz word used in the adult and continuing education field. In effective experiential learning, the learner is actively involved and the trainer transitions to the role of a facilitator. It is the facilitator's goal to immerse the learners totally in the learning situation, allowing them to gain new knowledge from their peers and the environment created. Attend this session to learn more about experiential learning and ways to integrate it into traditional instructor-led training programs.

By attending this session, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the differences between experiential learning and traditional training;
  • Identify specific methods for gaining greater physical, mental and emotional involvement among participants;
  • Identify the role and responsibilities of an effective experiential facilitator; and
  • Discuss ways to accelerate the learning experience.
