2009 IT Forum Conference

Join fellow construction industry technology leaders for AGC's inaugural IT Forum Conference, brought to you by the AGC Electronic Information System (EIS) Committee. The forum will provide participants an opportunity to discuss and share best practices on some of the most pressing IT challenges facing the construction industry.

Microsoft SharePoint

Microsoft SharePoint offers a wide range of capabilities that fit the needs of construction industry firms, both large and small. The presentation will cover:

  • Budget-friendly ways to use SharePoint;
  • How SharePoint can help you manage your business better;
  • How much it will cost and how much money you can save; and
  • The differences between Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS).

Virtualization and Disaster Recovery

Disaster recovery is an absolute necessity! Hear about the experiences of Lease Crutcher Lewis, a GC in Seattle, on finding the right virtualization and disaster recovery solutions. Their Network Systems Administrator will share:

  • The benefits of virtualization in a relatively small data center;
  • Pitfalls to watch out for when considering virtualization;
  • Costs/benefits realized by Lease Crutcher Lewis; and
  • Thoughts on Hypervisor and hardware selection.

Roundtable Discussions

Discuss with other construction industry IT professionals, in an open forum format, any IT topic. Potential discussions include:

  • IT management; staffing, budgeting, ROI and strategic planning;

Cancellation Policy

Full refunds will be granted for requests received in writing to AGC of America (postmarked, faxed or emailed by midnight) on July 31, 2009. A refund, less $50 for each registrant, will be granted to written requests from August 1, 2009 to August 10, 2009. Cancellations will not be accepted over the phone. Written notification is required. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER August 10, 2009.
