Education Excellence AwardsAGC created this new, comprehensive awards category in 2008 to recognize the most innovative and collaborative training and development programs. AGC accepts both self- and third-party nominations for these awards, which are presented annually at the fall Training & Development Conference. AGC general and specialty contractor members in good standing, AGC chapters, and individuals employed by these organizations are eligible to apply. 2009 Awards winnersThe 2009 Winners were announced by AGC Senior Vice President Ted Aadland during lunch October 28, 2009 at the HR and Training & Development Conference in Atlanta. In addition to a crystal award and public recognition of their training program, each winner was asked to participate in a "best practices" breakout session later in the conference. A copy of their presentations are linked to their award category.
2010 Awards applicationsThe five awards applications are available online in PDF format. We urge everyone interested in the 2010 awards to read the updated brochure to check for eligibility criteria. Please note that the applications have changed, so please use the 2010 applications. A maximum of two awards will be presented for each of the following categories, one for an AGC chapter and one for an AGC contractor member firm: CraftThe craft award recognizes outstanding efforts to foster, promote, and develop the highest standards and quality for craft training within the construction industry. SupervisoryThe supervisory training EEA honors exceptional and innovative professional development programs for construction supervision. Programs considered offer training to construction site foremen, supervisors, and/or superintendents. Project & Executive ManagementAn EEA will be awarded to those with professional development programs in the areas of project managers and executive personnel, including programs for individuals who lead and execute your projects and organizational strategies. One award will be presented for the following categories: Instructor of the YearNational recognition for one outstanding instructor of AGC-sponsored construction programs for craft, supervisory, management or other specialized subjects will be awarded to the applicant who has outstanding teaching credentials and demonstrates a commitment to enhancing high educational standards. Grand AwardThe Grand Award winner will be presented to a firm or chapter that demonstrates learning and performance as a top concern using the special section provided in this application. The annual winner will demonstrate the highest level of excellence for construction training and development programs at all levels of the organization. |
