His duties include using Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technology and processes to improve construction by identifying and solving problems, streamlining communication, and reducing waste. He oversees a team that provides 3D communication visualizations, project planning and constructability reviews, 3D project coordination and interference management, visual scheduling, aids costing and estimating, coordinates field layout, and BIM services for facilities management. Dan also trains estimators, superintendents, and project managers on multiple CAD and BIM software platforms. Mr. Klancnik has 10 years of building industry experience, the past year with The Walsh Group. He is a regular industry speaker on BIM for groups such as Autodesk, Bentley, the AGC, and McGraw Hill. His extensive experience covers multiple project types. Dan Russell, LEED® AP, Simulated Construction Manager, Sundt ConstructionDan Russell started his career in 1987 using AutoCAD for concrete formwork design. Dan began work with Sundt Construction in 1994 as the formwork engineer for the Arizona Science Center and worked in many roles prior to being promoted to Simulated Construction Manager in 2006. In this role he oversees the BIM efforts on all of Sundt's projects. Dan is a recognized national speaker on Building Information Modeling, speaking at many AGC, AIA, and other industry functions as well as speaking at educational institutions. He is one of the primary authors of the "AGC Contractor's Guide to BIM" BIM TechnologyJan Reinhardt, Principal and Founder, ADEPT Project DeliveryBefore joining ADEPT, Jan was a Program Manager for Virtual Design and Construction for Turner Construction Company where he was instrumental in the initial BIM implementation efforts in the company. Before serving in this position he held positions as an Assistant Engineer, Engineer and Consultant at Turner. Prior to joining Tuner, Jan was research assistant at Carnegie Mellon University and Consultant and Engineer at HOCHTIEF AG, where he was working on BIM and mobile computing related research and implementation projects. Jan serves as the Chairman of the Associated General Contractors of America's BIM Forum Constructor's Subcommittee. He holds a Masters Degree from Dresden University of Technology in Civil and Structural Engineering and a PhD in Computer Aided Engineering and Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
