Promote a Safe and Healthy Work Environment in the Construction Industry

AGC supports common-sense Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) reform legislation that promotes a safe and healthy work environment while providing protection for small businesses. OSHA should focus on achieving a more productive workforce and fewer workplace injuries by promoting more effective and efficient approaches to safety and health through cooperation with employers who strive to improve their safety programs while increasing enforcement on bad actors. Excessive and unnecessary regulations do not enhance safety for workers; OSHA must fully consider the costs and benefits of proposed regulations prior to proposal to ensure that federal and private resources are utilized efficiently to improve safety.
