Performance Standards Should Be Focused In the Areas of Congestion Relief, Asset Protection, Safety, and Financial Stewardship
Background:
In order to meet national goals, states and their local partners should have the lead in setting performance targets and in developing and implementing plans to achieve the national goals.
AGC Message:
Establish Specific Performance Standards. The bill should establish a set of specific performance standards in the areas of congestion relief, asset protection, safety and financial stewardship and impose enforcement mechanisms to ensure the enforcement of these standards.
Government Entities and Stakeholders Collaborate on Standards. The U.S. DOT should work with states, local governments and stakeholders to identify and establish performance measure that achieve national goals and objectives
