Support Multi-Year Authorization to Allow State and Local Governments to Engage In Long-Term, Multi-Year Surface Transportation Projects

Background:

Short –term extensions and a lack of a multi-year surface transportation bill can prevent states from awarding contracts and moving forward on projects because of the uncertainty of whether or not there will be federal funds to support those projects.

Multi-Year Authorization Provides Certainty for Transportation Construction Marketplace. Multi-Year Authorization provides funding certainty to states and to contractors so they can appropriately plan, invest in new equipment and make hiring decisions.
