Dollar-A-Day Club
As an alternative to the $1,000.00-a-year level, AGC PAC's "Double-D" Club was initiated in 1996 as a response to suggestions that we recognize a category of contribution below the 535 Club level. AGC PAC set up the Double-D Club, and, after an initial trial period, the new category was "kicked off" officially during the 1996 Midyear Meeting. Beginning with only nine members, the Double-D Club has recorded substantial increases in membership. The philosophy of this club-membership recognition is to honor the DAILY COMMITMENT of those who support AGC PAC and its goals - goals that seek to ensure the election of congressional candidates who are willing to give our industry a fair and equitable hearing on legislative matters that affect our industry and our individual businesses. That daily commitment to AGC's political arm is encouraged by all AGC PAC supporters and, we believe, manifests itself in the ongoing political-mindedness and activities of those individuals who have become "politically active contractors", not only as Double-D members but all contributors who make a political statement, simply by offering their consistent support to AGC PAC's goals and objectives. That support, in turn, makes it possible for AGC PAC to meet its fundraising goals and continue the important political work and lobbying efforts in Washington, in both an effective and cohesive manner. A special AGC PAC lapel pin has been designed to acknowledge the $365.00 level contributor, and ongoing promotionals are used to recognize Double-D Members at mid-year and convention meetings. |
